Have you ever been in a situation when you really wanted to photograph something, perhaps a once in a lifetime opportunity, but you didn’t have your camera with you? Well, thanks to modern technology, many people do not run into that problem anymore. Many cell phones andmobile devices now have cameras built in. Older models of camera phones produced some pretty low quality images, but the modern devices have sophisticated cameras capable of producing some great shots. And since mobile devices are a popular gift this time of year, I figured I would spend this email talking about the benefits and features of camera phone and mobile device photography. Benefits
Perhaps the biggest benefit of camera phones is convenience. Chances are, you take your phone with you when you go out anyway, so you have it within reach if you come across a photographic moment. It is especially convenient when you want to take a photo but do not have time to go home and get your camera, like when you meet a celebrity or see something funny. Camera phones also make it easy to instantly share your photos. Many camera phones connect to various social media sites and blogs so you can share a photo seconds after taking it. Also, you should install our Android or iPhone mobile apps if you have an Android phone or iPhone. Our apps are free and allow you to quickly upload and share photos from your phone to your online account. Our iPhone app even lets you quickly order your photos when you are out and about! The ability to order from an Android phone is coming soon. Other camera apps let you add filters or other fun effects to your photos. Essentially, carrying your camera phone is like carrying a point and shoot camera with you, wherever you go.

Features
Camera phones have come a long way in a short amount of time. Just a few years ago, most camera phones were more of a novelty that was cool to have, but the photos were blurry or low quality. Recent devices have changed that, however. Now, camera phones have 5 or more megapixels, which is a high quality file size capable of printing stunning enlargements or using on photo books or other photo products.

Camera phones now have features like zoom, auto focus, flash, white balance, and viewing screens similar to other digital cameras. When you get a new camera phone (or if you already have one), take a few minutes to look over the manual to get familiar with the various features and functions you have at your fingertips. Play around and take a few pictures using different settings and features so when the time comes for a quick photo using your camera phone, you are ready to get the best possible shot

The Taste of Home Cooking School will be back in Clinton on May 6th! Piggly Wiggly is a major sponsor of this event as we furnish the food for the event as well as bags full of groceries and a bunch of free items for attendees. If you like to watch the Food Network, you’ll be right at home here! Come out and join in the fun in this community event. Vendor booths will be open at 4pm and the show will start at 6. You can get your tickets at Piggly Wiggly at Jordan Plaza or Shamrock Plaza. Save a few bucks by getting them in advance. Actually, you probably want to get them in advance to insure you get a ticket! Last year was sold out and with all the positive comments of last years show, I am absolutely sure that this year will sell out as well.

We recently helped to sponsor the 1st Sampson County Super Sprint. I thought everyone would like to see highlights of Mr. Pig at this event. We furnished the food station for the race.  We furnished water, soft drinks, bananas, bagels, and peanut butter for the participants. Special thanks to our friends at Pepsi Bottling Ventures for their generous support of our local community. We also had some Protein Rush and “Bang” workout drinks furnished by our NEW friends at VPX Sports and Europa FDM. Be on the lookout for these new and exciting items in our stores soon! The Super Bowl has nearly become a holiday recently. Maybe one of the most watched sporting events in the world, but certainly in the US. At Piggly Wiggly, we understand that you may want to have a Super Party this weekend. Here are some helpful items that we have available to take some stress out of your preparations! Our Deli’s are preparing to fix you all kind of goodies for your parties.

Try our delicious fruit tray with fresh Strawberries, Cantelope, Honey Dew, Seedless red grapes, and Pineapple with a our homemade fruit dip.

Want something a little more substantial? We have all sorts of other trays as well. Our Sandwich tray has petite chicken salad, pimento cheese, ham and cheese croissants, and roast beef croissants.

OK, there has been some recent activity on Facebook concerning the OLD Piggly Wiggly Jingle. I have dug through the old files and managed to find a copy of the old Jingle. In fact, we still use it occaisionaly in some of our radio advertising. This is the actual ad version so you will hear some background music that is used for the voice over for the radio announcers to record our actual ad items. Listen and enjoy!
